Menu for our forest room guests

FOREST MENU

At Naturlogi, we are passionate about the local, sustainable, and small-scale. Here, food is cooked over the fire using ingredients from the farm, the forest, and the surrounding landscape.

Guests staying in our forest rooms prepare their own meals over the open fire by their room*. Everything is pre-prepared; all you do is the cooking itself. Instructions and all necessary equipment are provided, and we take care of the dishes. You don’t need any prior experience cooking over an open fire—we’re happy to help if you have questions. Cooking together is usually a pleasant moment and an enjoyable evening activity.

As part of our commitment to using local ingredients and minimizing food waste, we never know the exact menu in advance.

If your stay coincides with one of our other dinners or events, you are of course welcome to book a spot. Just be sure to do so well in advance, as these events often fill up and there are no reserved seats for room guests. See more under the CALENDAR.

*This applies in general unless otherwise stated in your booking or package.

Seasonal menu

The seasonal menu is the dinner you order for the forest rooms. The menu varies slightly throughout the season, and side dishes may change, but the base usually includes:

– A charcuterie board with local cheese and the farm’s beer sausage.
Usually served upon arrival.

– Game stew or a vegetarian stew made with Gotland beluga lentils,
seasonal vegetables from Eksjöhult Småbruk cooked over the open fire,
seasonal accompaniments, and bread.

– Fried crumble dessert and seasonal sweets from the farm, prepared over an open fire.

PRICE: SEK 675 per person
Children up to 12 years can order a smaller portion for SEK 225.
DRINKS: see below

If you have a hearty appetite, please let us know and we’ll add a little extra. Allergies and special dietary requirements must be communicated before your stay—see information at the bottom of the page. The menu can also be made vegan.

Hiking lunch

For hiking or the journey home, you can order a take-away lunch. If you’re staying for multiple nights, you are of course welcome to enjoy it at your forest room. Lunch is handed out during breakfast.

The contents vary slightly, but usually include: potato salad, cold cuts, a dressing or spread, and green salad. Perfect to pack in your backpack for an excursion or to enjoy on a tree stump in the forest.

PRICE: SEK 195 per person

Lunch Included in the Accommodation Package

For those who have booked an accommodation package that includes lunch, a delicious soup made from local ingredients with tasty accompaniments is served. Depending on other activities in the forest, lunch is served either at your room or in the Forest Lounge.

At Naturlogi, the fire is the focal point—around it we gather, and over it we cook meals using ingredients from the local area and forest. Our beverage philosophy follows the same principle: drinks should be enjoyed in the forest, around the fire, and complement the food we serve.

With a strong passion for locally produced beverages, we highlight Swedish drinks—those available nearby—but when it comes to wine, we also include selections from our conscientious neighbors in Europe.

The focus on European producers ensures that products have the shortest possible transport distance without compromising quality. All chosen producers practice sustainable agriculture and strive to minimize their environmental impact.

Producers from Östergötland

At Naturlogi, we are passionate about sustainable and locally produced food. We are proud members of Östgötamat and always aim to source as much of our food as possible from local farms and producers. You can read more at: http://www.ostgotamat.se/

For us, it is important to find artisans and producers who, like us, are committed to local, small-scale, and sustainable production. Here you can find more information and links to our partners regarding ingredients and products for our food baskets.

Eksjöhult småbruk
At Eksjöhult, Mathilda and Tom grow vegetables completely without pesticides, artificial fertilizers, or fossil fuels. The farm is located about 15 km from us, and during the summer, vegetables are delivered mainly from Eksjöhult to our food baskets.

Östgötamusteri
Kerstin and Anders press Östergötland apples in Linköping into fantastic apple cider. When our apple trees produce enough fruit, we deliver the apples so that the cider served at breakfast comes from the farm’s own orchard.

Ölsbo
At the neighboring farm Ölsbo, they brew beer—quite fittingly! What a delight to be able to serve beer from the neighboring farm, made entirely from Swedish and organic ingredients.

Ett kilo socker
Ida makes the most delicious chocolates—so good that she won the Swedish Chocolate Championship in 2023. For us, she creates pralines inspired by forest flavors—how about spruce tips or cloudberries? Chocolate is difficult to produce in Sweden, but Ida sources hers from Malmö Chokladfabrik, carefully selecting her ingredients.

Gävbo Bakstra
Artisan flatbread, made from organic, local ingredients and heritage grains, is baked in Gammalkil, about 20 km from us.
